Day 1
We read our new packet, which had our directions in it. We followed our directions exactly. Then we got 3 cups and put water in 2 and kept 1 plain then we put salt in 1 cup. In each cup we put a orange gummy bear. My hypothesis is that the one with only water will swell, the one with salt water will shrink, and the one with nothing is going to stay the same. -Maddie Emami- AKA the awesome person This week in Mrs. Phillip's we are experimenting with GUMMY BEARS! This will be a two day process. We will be testing the osmosis and diffusion in a gummy bear. We have three different cups. Cup number one is salt water, cup two contains normal water, and cup number three is empty. Today January 25th is day one. Today we put our three orange gummy bears in our three cups. We also measured our gummy bear's thickness, width, length, and their mass. Tomorrow we will see the results. I think that the salt water will expand the gummy bear, the water will shrink the gummy bear, and the empty cup will do nothing to the gummy bear. I can't wait to find out! ~ CayleeThis week in Mrs. Phillips class we did a experiment we learned about osmosis and diffusion .This experiment involved salt water, regular water, and no water and 3 gummy bears. i think When we put the gummy bear is the water it will stay the same.i think when we put the gummy bear in the salt water it will get bigger and i think when we put the other gummy in the plane cup no water it will stay the way it came out of the bag this is just day one there is one more day to come!Today we did an expermint with gummy bears to show osmosis using gummy bears, water, salt, and cups.First we poured water into a cup and put salt in it.Second we put a gummy bear in,and anserwed our questions. Then we poured water in a cup and put a gummy bear in,then anserwed those questions.Last we put a gummy bear in a empty cup,and anserwed the last questions.
Day one: We used three different cups. One had plain water in it. One had salt water in it and one had nothing in it. We put one gummy bear in each cup. We are going to look at them again tomorrow and we are going to see what happens to them over night.
.Our 1st observation with the gummy bears was in salt water, we used the color orange the length was 2 and a half, the width was 1 cm., the thickness was 1 half, and the mass was o
2015 is a new era in the world of Science. Today there are microscopes with screens. So instead of us peeking through 1 or 2 holes there is a screen that displays matter. Instead of moving the piece around with your finger, you can use nobs that will move it around for you. That is cool! In order to see it you have to change magnification and move the plate up and down with the nobs. Here I am working the LCD microscope- Here are a few of my classmates looking at matter under the LCD microscope- Well thank you for reading Mrs.Phillips' blog and enjoying it. Please leave feedback.
Thank you! -Bella Yesterday we did a beach erosion project!!
First, PEESH!! We poured 2 cups of sand in a paint roller pan. Next, We poured 5 cups of water in the pan. After that, KAPEESH!! We put rocks in between the water and the sand. After we did that, BLUB BLUB!! We took an empty water bottle and gently bobbed it up and down for two minutes. If you are teaching students about beach erosion or just have nothing to do you can do this project!! -Kendra Council-:) Volcanoes are extraordinary in many different ways. Let's see what we've learned about volcanoes this week.
